The Member of Parliament for Upper Manya Krobo, Bismark Tetteh Nyarko, has pledged to construct a water storage tank for the people of Asesewa.
This commitment was made during a stakeholders’ consultative meeting held in Asesewa on April 16, 2025, convened by the Chief of Asesewa, Nene Offei Tagbaja.
The chief had appealed for support to ease the persistent water challenges faced by the community, citing inefficiencies in the current water distribution system.
In response, the MP assured the gathering of his readiness to address the issue and help augment the water supply in the area.
He reiterated his broader commitment to ensuring the completion of the Bukunor Water System, which he said the next NDC government under President John Dramani Mahama would prioritize.
“The water storage tank will be provided for the community to get potable water,” he said.
The MP’s promise was received with appreciation by the local leadership and residents present at the meeting.
The Chief of Asesewa, Nene Offei Tagbaja, expressed concern over the poor delivery of essential services in the Upper Manya Krobo District.
In his address, the chief criticized the inefficiencies of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA), stating that the current state of water distribution in the area was inadequate and unacceptable.
He urged the agency to improve its operations to better serve the needs of the community.
He also highlighted the lack of banking competition in Asesewa, lamenting that residents and business owners are forced to travel long distances to Koforidua to access basic financial services.
Additionally, the chief announced a new structure for market days in the district to promote local trade and economic activity. Going forward, he said, Wednesdays will be market day for Sekesua, Thursdays for Akateng, and Fridays for Asesewa.
