Nigeria midfielder Frank Onyeka has expressed optimism about beating Ghana in the Unity Cup.

Ghana will face Nigeria in the semi-final as they vie for a spot in the Unity Cup final.

The Augsburg man highlighted the significance of beating their arch-rivals, despite the game being a friendly.

“I am looking forward to that game. It is always a big rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana, and it is also good to play in this Cup to bring the countries together. Hopefully, we will win against Ghana,” he told Joy Sports.

Regarding the Super Eagles’ complicated 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, he mentioned that they still have a chance to make amends and qualify.

“We still have a chance to qualify. We have to win the rest of our four matches, and hopefully, we will qualify,” a confident Onyeka added.

The Black Stars will kick off the tournament with a clash against their fierce West African rivals, Nigeria, on May 28, while Trinidad and Tobago will face Jamaica on May 27, 2025.

The winners of these matches will advance to the final, while the losing teams will compete for third place in games scheduled for May 31, 2025.
