Ghanaian dancehall musician, Shatta Wale, has faced attacks online for treating Nigerian TikTok influencer, Peller, to a grand welcome upon his arrival in Ghana.
It will be recalled that Jarvis, Peller’s girlfriend, previously stirred controversy during a visit to Ghana when she claimed the country does not have as many luxury cars as often portrayed on social media.
In response to those claims, Shatta Wale took to his social media at the time to invite Peller to Ghana, promising to show him his collection of luxury cars whenever he visits.
Now, on April 10, 2025, Shatta Wale has officially welcomed the Nigerian TikToker to the country.
Videos circulating on social media show Peller being glamorously received by Shatta Wale’s team at Kotoka International Airport.
In a separate video, Peller is seen arriving in a black Escalade before being ushered into one of Shatta Wale’s apartments by his management.
What some view as a harmless gesture has since sparked backlash online, with netizens accusing Shatta Wale of giving unnecessary attention and publicity to a mere TikTok influencer.
Critics have argued that the social media personality doesn’t deserve such recognition.
They have insisted that A-list Nigerian celebrities would not extend the same treatment to Ghanaian influencers.
