Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is nearing an agreement to extend his stay at Anfield, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
The Egyptian is one of Liverpool’s three superstars, alongside Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contracts expire this summer.
While Alexander-Arnold is reportedly set to join Real Madrid and Van Dijk’s contract renewal has stalled, the Merseyside club has reportedly made a breakthrough in their efforts to keep Salah at Anfield.
Shortly after news of Salah’s potential contract extension emerged, Liverpool shared a training photo of the Egyptian star, crowned with a king emoji.
Having joined the Reds in 2017, Salah could be set to complete a decade at Anfield if talks over a new deal are successful.
Salah has enjoyed a trophy-laden spell at Anfield, winning eight major honors since joining Liverpool.
He was instrumental in their Champions League triumph in the 2018/19 season and played a starring role in ending the club’s 30-year wait for a Premier League title the following season.
He is currently enjoying an exceptional individual season, registering 32 goals and 22 assists in all competitions to help Liverpool build an 11-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
