Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Oduro Sarfo, has hit back at critics of the football governing body, insisting that despite the sacrifices they make, including using their own data for lengthy Zoom meetings, they are still subjected to harsh criticism.

In an interview with Kessben TV, Sarfo revealed that the GFA’s Executive Council sometimes spends as long as six to eight hours in virtual meetings, all at their own expense. Yet, their commitment often goes unnoticed and unappreciated.

“Sometimes our EXCO meetings on Zoom go on for six to eight hours. These are crucial discussions that impact the future of Ghana football. We use so much data for these meetings, and no one provides us with recharge credits. It’s a significant cost that we all bear,” he said.

He further lamented that the EXCO is constantly blamed for every misfortune involving the Black Stars.

“Anytime something goes wrong in our football, it’s the EXCO that gets all the blame, but when things go right, nobody mentions us. When the Black Stars lose a game, it’s the entire EXCO that gets called out. But people forget that we are the same people who appointed the management committee and the technical team, so the EXCO also deserves credit when there is success,” he added.
