The head coach of Medeama Sporting Club, Ibrahim Tanko, has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to bounce back from their defeat to Hearts of Oak over the weekend.

The coach and his side suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to the Phobians in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday, in a game staged at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Speaking in his post-match interview, Coach Ibrahim Tanko praised the performance of his players, describing the defeat as a painful one.

He argued that the defeat, despite being a setback for his team, is not the end as they continue their push to challenge for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title.

“This is a setback, not the end. We’ve won two straight before this, and we’ll analyze where we fell short, especially in front of the goal, and come back stronger. The boys are hungry, and our fans deserve better. We’ll deliver,” Coach Ibrahim Tanko said, as quoted on the Medeama SC website.

Next weekend, Medeama SC will take on Dreams FC in a game the team will be eager to win to climb higher in the Ghana Premier League standings.
