Ghanaian musician Mohammed Ismail Sherif, popularly known as Black Sherif, has revealed the inspiration behind the title of his newly released album, ‘Iron Boy’.

According to Black Sherif, the album’s title is a tribute to Highlife icon Amakye Dede, who is also known by the same nickname, after he released a song titled ‘Iron Boy’ in 1998.

Speaking on ‘The Dotty Show’ on Apple Music, Black Sherif stated that he only recently discovered a surprising family connection to the veteran musician.

“I had no idea Amakye Dede was friends with my granddad. It was revealed to me when I paid homage to him. Part of the reasons I named my album Iron Boy is because of him,” he said.

After the success of his debut album ‘The Villain I Never Was’, Black Sherif has returned with ‘Iron Boy’ has which sparked controversy online with some fans speculating that certain tracks on the album may be directed at some individuals in the entertainment industry.
