Hearts of Oak will play their Ghana Premier League match against Nations FC at the Tuba Astroturf on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, after the National Sports Authority (NSA) denied access to the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) initially announced that the match would be played at the Accra Sports Stadium without a formal agreement with the NSA.

In response, the NSA issued a strong statement refuting the claim, stating that the stadium remains closed for renovation following the Ghana-Chad 2026 World Cup qualifier.

Hearts of Oak have been without a permanent home venue this season. They have been using the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon for their home matches since September 2024 after concerns over the condition of the Accra Sports Stadium.

However, that facility has also been shut down for renovation ahead of the CAF African Schools Football Championship, set to take place from April 21 to April 26, 2025.

The closure of the University of Ghana Stadium has further complicated Hearts of Oak’s situation, forcing them to find alternative venues.

With limited options, the club has had to settle for the Tuba Astro-turf, a much smaller venue than the Accra Sports Stadium.
