True Democracy’s impressive FA Cup run came to an end on Sunday, March 30, 2025, following a 2-1 defeat to Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Although the Division One side put up a strong fight, they were undone by a moment of brilliance from Asante Kotoko’s marksman, Kwame Opoku, who scored in additional time to end their FA Cup dreams.

Despite their spirited performance, the Tema-based club felt hard done by and expressed their frustrations after the final whistle.

Before Opoku’s decisive goal, a clash involving some True Democracy players led to calls for the game to be halted for medical attention.

However, the referee allowed play to continue, ultimately resulting in Asante Kotoko’s late winner.

As soon as the final whistle blew, some True Democracy players rushed toward referee Maxwell Hanson to voice their frustrations, while others intervened to prevent their teammates from confronting the official too aggressively.
