Black Stars management committee member Stephen Appiah believes Ghana is on the verge of securing a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after an impressive run in the qualifiers.

Ghana’s back-to-back victories—first against Chad in Accra and then a commanding 3-0 win over Madagascar—have put them in a strong position, five points clear at the top of Group I. With four games remaining, Appiah is confident the team is edging closer to qualification.

“With the win yesterday, yes, we are almost there. When you look at the points, the matches left, and the performance our boys have shown, yes, we are almost there,” the former Ghana captain told 3Sports.

Ghana’s unbeaten run in the qualifiers has strengthened their bid for a fifth World Cup appearance. With 15 points, they hold a comfortable lead over their closest rivals.

The Black Stars will look to maintain their form and seal their place at the global showpiece as they prepare for the next round of matches in September.
