George Quaye has criticised Ghanaian musicians who cannot file Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) nominations.

The former Charterhouse head of communications said it’s a shame if some musicians cannot familiarise themselves with the nomination process of the award scheme.

He stated that it is not pleasant for them to sit on radio and complain without knowing the nomination process.

“If I were a musician, I would feel very ashamed to sit on the radio and say I don’t know how to submit forms for the TGMAs. Should I come to your house to show you how to do it? The scheme has been here for 25 years, if you have any interest, you do it yourself,” Quaye said on Hitz FM.

If they cannot do the nomination themselves, the media personality averred it is prudent for them to hire someone who can help them.

“If you can’t do it yourself, get somebody to do it for you. But to sit on social media and say you don’t know how, it’s shameful. At worst, drive to CharterHouse; it’s not in the south of France. There are many people around who can help you.

“It only tells me clearly that you are not interested. If you want to be part of the scheme but can’t put in the work, don’t even call yourself a musician,” George Quaye averred.
