Reggae and Dancehall artiste, Lawrence Senyo Adiase, popularly known as DSL, has shared his opinion on relationships, contending that men should not limit themselves to one lady.

Speaking on a podcast, hosted by Zeinat Issahak, DSL discussed about the complexities of relationships, touching on both positive and toxic aspects.

Reflecting on personal experiences and those of others, the Lynx Entertainment signee made it clear that he would never advise his future son to commit to only one woman.

“If I have a son, based on what I’ve seen and experienced in relationship, the heartbreaks, the mental breakdowns, even cases where people have lost their lives over love, I will never tell him, ‘Kwame, Kwesi, Kofi, one woman is enough for you.’ No, one woman is not enough for him,” he stated.

DSL emphasised on why he holds this belief, pointing out that love can often be cruel.

He noted that those who dedicate themselves entirely to one partner frequently end up disappointed and emotionally shattered.

“When you put your whole heart and mind into one person, they don’t always value it. You can sacrifice everything for them, thinking you are building something meaningful, only to be left heartbroken in the end,” he explained.

He also emphasised how individuals, after giving their all in a relationship, are often left emotionally drained, struggling to recover from betrayal or neglect.

DSL quickly clarified, though, that he is not endorsing promiscuity or careless behaviour.

Rather, he emphasised that his position is based on personal experiences and lessons learned from seeing the hard realities of relationships.

“I am not saying people should just go around sleeping with multiple partners. That’s not my point. But based on what I’ve seen and experienced, I wouldn’t advise anyone to invest everything into just one relationship. It’s dangerous emotionally,” he claimed.
