The Ghana Grows Programme has resumed its High School Next Level tour, starting with a visit to the Koforidua School for the Deaf.

The initiative, which focuses on inspiring young people and promoting opportunities in agribusiness, is placing special emphasis on inclusion for persons with disabilities.

Ghana Grows, an initiative of the Mastercard Foundation in partnership with Springboard Roadshow Foundation and Lyme Haus as a sub-implementing partner, is working to change how young people see agribusiness.

The programme is encouraging the youth to consider agriculture as a promising career path.

Speaking at the event in Accra yesterday, Mrs Comfort Ocran, Executive Director of Springboard Roadshow Foundation, encouraged students to dream big despite their challenges.

She stated that the goal of the programme was to change perceptions and prove that agribusiness was for everyone, and expressed the hope that engaging the students would help nurture a new generation of agribusiness leaders.

Mr Matthew Ansah, Team Lead at Lyme Haus, emphasized the wide range of career opportunities available in the agricultural sector and urged students to look beyond their disabilities, seize the opportunities that agribusiness offers.

The headmistress of Koforidua School for the Deaf, MrsAgyemang, expressed gratitude to Ghana Grows for their dedication to empowering students and broadening their career horizons.

The event ended with a tree-planting exercise, gift presentations to selected students, and energetic dance and choreography performances by students from both schools.

The High School Next Level tour will continue across the country, with planned visits to schools in Takoradi, Cape Coast, Ho, Bechem, Savelugu, and more.
