The Black Stars of Ghana take on Madagascar in a must-win game at the Mimoun Al Arsi Stadium in Morocco today, March 24, 2025, as they fight for a spot in the 2026 World Cup.

After dominating Chad on Friday, March 21, 2025, the four-time AFCON champions now have an opportunity to take control of the group standings and solidify their position at the top.

Ghana recorded back-to-back victories in the last round of qualifying games against Mali and the Central African Republic in June 2024 and could replicate the feat with a win tonight.

Madagascar’s only loss in the qualifiers came against Ghana when Iñaki Williams struck late to break Malagasy hearts in November 2023. Since then, they have won three of their last four 2026 World Cup qualifying matches, drawing one and earning 10 points.

Following Madagascar’s victory over the Central African Republic on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, the Barea could go top of the group with a win against the Black Stars. The game is slated for 7 p.m. local time.
