Head coach of the Madagascar national team, Corentin Martins, has said that his side are preparing feverishly for their match against the Black Stars of Ghana in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

He noted that the Barea (the nickname of the Malagasy national team) are deploying their best tactics and strategies in training to be fully prepared for the test Ghana will pose.

The coach indicated that the Black Stars are in their best form after thrashing Chad 5-0, with some key players from major European leagues.

Speaking ahead of the game, Coach Martins insisted that the result against the Black Stars will not determine their fate in the 2026 World Cup qualification, as there are more matches ahead.

“We’re going to play our way. We’re going to try to annoy them [Black Stars] as much as possible. Ghana have great players who play in major European leagues.

“We have to play a similar kind of game to stand a chance of winning points from Ghana. This game is not decisive because there are four other games still to be played,” he said as reported by ghanasoccernet.com.

Madagascar are coming into the game with a good record after beating the Central African Republic (CAR) 4-1.

The Black Stars will face Madagascar at the 12,000-capacity Mimoun Al Arsi Stadium in Morocco on March 24, 2025.

Ghana lead Group I with 12 points, followed by Madagascar with 10 points.
