President John Dramani Mahama has visited the Central Business District of Adum, Kumasi, to ascertain the extent of damage caused by the inferno which started in the early hours of Friday, March 21, 2025.

According to a video shared by citinewsroom on ‘X’ on March 21, 2025, the President arrived at the scene from an official assignment in Nkawie in the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality, Ashanti Region.

The President, in the company of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene and other appointees, could be seen receiving a briefing from an officer mobbed by a crowd.

Firefighters faced challenges in containing the blaze due to obstructed access routes and delayed the response time a report by citinewsroom.com stated.

Meanwhile, the fire service department has not ascertained the actual cause of the fire at the time of filing this report. However, some distraught traders cited power outages as a possible cause of the fire.
