The Black Stars held their first training session ahead of their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier against Chad on Friday, March 21, 2025.
Head coach Otto Addo and his new backroom staff led the team’s training at the Accra Sports Stadium, with only nine players available. The session was open to the public.
The players who participated in the training were Benjamin Asare (Accra Hearts of Oak), Lawrence Ati-Zigi (St. Gallen), Joseph Wollacott (Crawley Town), Kamaradini Mamoud (Medeama SC), Mohammed Salisu (AS Monaco), Gideon Mensah (Auxerre), Razak Simpson (Nations FC), Kamaldeen Sulemana (Southampton FC), and Antoine Semenyo (AFC Bournemouth).
Currently, twelve players out of the 23-man squad have arrived in the country, with 11 more set to join in the coming days before their first game on Friday, March 21.
Three players, Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew and Lawrence Agyekum, joined on Monday, bringing the total to 12.
The manager expects a full squad for his third training session on Wednesday as he prepares for the match.
The team will hold their second training session on Tuesday, but unlike the first session, it will not be open to the public.
