A desperate search is underway for a man who fell into the Brisbane River while out drinking with friends in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police divers are in the water near the Jindalee boat ramp, in the city’s west, looking for the man who was last seen before dawn.
The first officers arrived to the area and began their search at 5.40am.
They were joined by two patrol boats at 9am.
The boats initially focused their search area towards the end pontoon before moving downstream and around the river bend towards the city.
Shortly after that marine rescue and SES teams arrived to assist at 9.45am.
Police drones are also being used to scour the area.
Paramedics took a man in his 20s, who was at the scene, to Queen Elizabeth II Hospital with shoulder injuries.

The man had tried diving into the river to help his friend but was unable to pull him out.
Two sets of paramedics are currently on standby in case the missing man is found.
Several people believed to be family of the missing man have gathered at the river’s shoreline and were seen anxiously supporting each other as the search continued.
