Ghana U-20 star Jerry Afriyie has expressed his eagerness to receive another call-up to the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The forward has made an impressive start with his new club, Lugo, in the Spanish third tier, scoring two goals on his debut.

Speaking with 3Sports, Afriyie shared his desire to return to the national team after scoring on his debut for the Black Stars against Niger in November 2024.

“I will be very happy and glad if they call me because there are more [goals] on the way,” he said.

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is set to announce his squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Friday, March 14, 2025.

GhanaWeb understands that Black Stars players will report to camp on Monday, March 17, 2025, to begin preparations for the two upcoming games against Chad and Madagascar.

The Black Stars will face Chad in Accra on Friday, March 21, before traveling to Morocco to take on Madagascar on March 24, 2025.
