Ghanaian coach James Kwasi Appiah has urged the Sudan Football Association to improve player incentives ahead of their crucial match against Senegal in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
He proposed that the FA introduce performance-based bonuses to motivate the players to give their best and secure positive results for the team.
Appiah emphasised that enhancing the financial incentive package would boost the team’s chances of winning against Senegal in the upcoming qualifier.
“I hope the federation will provide incentive bonuses to the players, as they deserve them after their great performances. Such incentives will help them achieve a positive result against a big team like Senegal, which will further enhance our chances,” he said, as reported by Koora.com.
Speaking about the Senegal clash, the former Black Stars coach stressed that his team is well-prepared to face the Lions of Teranga and fight for qualification.
“Senegal is a strong team, but they are not the only ones. We are also one of the best teams on the continent. We have performed well, and everyone now sees us as a strong team. We have achieved part of our goals, and now we aspire to accomplish even more,” he added.
Meanwhile, Appiah has yet to report to Sudan’s training camp in Saudi Arabia as he continues to push for the resolution of his unpaid salaries.
Sudan will face Senegal on March 22, 2025, in their fifth match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. They currently lead Group B with ten points after four games.
