Kumawood movie star Maame Serwaa has revealed what she admires most about movie and media personality Nana Ama McBrown—her attitude towards criticism and how she carries herself.

Appearing on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo, she was asked by host Nana Romeo about her relationship with McBrown.

“We’re very cool. That’s my mother. I have so much respect for that woman,” she responded reflexively.

“Let’s put aside the respect people have for her—she respects herself. When she is attacked, she keeps quiet and uses her actions to prove her critics wrong. That’s the one thing I admire most about her.”

The actress, who began her career as a child, agreed with Romeo when he mentioned that he had seen a discussion suggesting McBrown was the most successful woman in Ghana.

“I love seeing women winning. I love it so much. In past eras, men were on top. This time around, a woman is proving that we can do better,” she said, adding, “It shouldn’t always be about trending for negative reasons; you should trend for positive things, too.”

According to Maame Serwaa, McBrown is a leader who respects herself, allowing her work and actions to speak for her.

“That’s what I’m trying to be as well,” she emphasized.

In conclusion, Maame Serwaa, born Clara Amoateng Benson, reflected on McBrown’s approach to criticism, saying, “People will talk. There’s no need to respond. Just let your work prove them wrong.”
