The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ofoase Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has questioned what he describes as an inconsistency in the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) stance on national priorities.

Speaking during an interview in a post shared on X by SIKAOFFICIAL on March 4, 2025, regarding the recent commissioning of the Hajj Village, Oppong Nkrumah pointed out what he sees as a contradiction in the NDC’s approach to religious infrastructure.

“Is this the same NDC that, when the issue of the National Cathedral came up, said there were more pressing priorities and that Ghana’s problems had not been fully addressed? Yet now, they claim the Hajj Village is a priority and want to take credit for it?” he asked.

His comments follow the commissioning of the Hajj Village by President Mahama, a facility designed to support Ghanaian Muslim pilgrims traveling to Mecca, which has been touted as a major achievement.

On Friday, February 28, 2025, President John Dramani Mahama broke ground for the construction of the new Hajj Village, a facility meant to support Ghanaian Muslim pilgrims traveling to Mecca.
