P.K. Sarpong, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has publicly criticized Yaa Asantewa Asante, the former Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA), for her recent comments about the challenges she faced during her tenure. Sarpong accused Asante of unfairly blaming President Nana Akufo-Addo and questioned her timing, implying that she may have hidden motives for speaking out now.

Sarpong expressed disappointment that Asante has aligned herself with those attacking the former President, particularly since the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is now in power. He also challenged her assertion that she lacked sufficient financial backing, pointing out that she oversaw a $2 million NFL commercial shoot during her time in office.

Furthermore, Sarpong noted that Asante received all her outstanding salaries and questioned her commitment to the NPP, highlighting that she did not actively campaign for the party or support its initiatives. He concluded that while NPP members are still dealing with the aftermath of their election loss, Asante has little at stake, making her complaints insignificant to them.
