Ghanaian actress, Vicky Zugah, has expressed concerns over how some men are demanding more from women without reciprocating the same efforts.

In a post shared on social media on Instagram on February 28, 2025, Vicky Zugah said the current generation of men prefer to equally split bills with women, however, they are not willing to assist with house chores.

“The men you sent to take care of us are now calling us gold diggers. They want responsibilities shared while demanding more than they give. They want to do 50/50 with us… How did we get here? Why is it so difficult for this generation of men to freely and effortlessly take care of us?

“Most men want wives who can submit to them as head of the house and still pay 50 percent, work the same hours as them, and expect us to come and cook and take care of the kids. The chores are not entirely my problem; my problem is the splitting of bills. If I am too busy, I can hire a maid. When you all are busily demanding submission, know that it comes with being a man: protecting and providing,” she stated.

She further called on men to provide for women and avoid the ideology of splitting bills.

“I am not disputing the fact that there are a few generous men out there. When next you meet at the table of men, kindly advise your men for us,” she added.
