Members of the entertainment fraternity have expressed disappointment in First Deputy Minority Whip Habib Iddrisu over a remark he made about the creative arts industry during the vetting of Deputy Minister-designate for Food and Agriculture, John Dumelo.

During Dumelo’s vetting on February 25, 2025, Habib Iddrisu cautioned the nominee against taking his political career lightly, emphasizing that his role was not within the movie industry.

Iddrisu urged Dumelo to approach his ministerial duties with utmost seriousness.

“If you go to the ministry, try to assist your minister. The ministry is vast, and you should not try to jump the gun. Also, note that when you go to the ministry, you are no longer in the movie industry. Try to be as serious as you can so that you can support your minister in succeeding,” Iddrisu stated.

His comment has sparked reactions on social media, with some netizens calling on the Deputy Minority Whip to issue an unqualified apology to the movie industry.

While some demand an apology to the creative arts sector, others are questioning Habib Iddrisu’s intelligence.

With all the seriousness what have they achieved? Besides he doesn’t know the seriousness needed to make it in the movie industry. It is that seriousness that Princes David Osei lacks reason why he couldn’t make it there

The creative arts people should take offense to this

    What a stvpid question

Permit me to say “You have low sensitivity for saying that to the industry people” God punish you, sir
