President John Dramani Mahama has appointed the Member of Parliament for Ayensuano, Teddy Safori Addi, as the Director-General of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).
The Ayensuano legislator announced his appointment in a post shared on X on February 26, 2025.
He expressed his gratitude to the president for the confidence reposed in him by appointing him as the head of the agency responsible for national emergencies in the country.
Teddy Addi also assured President Mahama and the people of Ghana that he will serve them to the best of his abilities.
“I am humbled and extremely grateful for the honour of appointment as the Director General of Operations, for National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).
“I pledge my unwavering commitment to serving diligently to you and the people of Ghana,” he wrote.
Teddy Safori Addi is a second-term MP for the Ayensuano Constituency in the Eastern Region.
He was first elected into Parliament in 2021 and won his re-election bid in 2024.
As NADMO boss, the MP is expected to oversee the department’s mission of managing disasters by co-ordinating the resources of government institutions and non-governmental agencies, and also developing the capacity of communities to respond effectively to disasters and improve their livelihood through social mobilisation, employment generation, and poverty reduction projects.
