When not on the basketball court, LeBron James may be near the water as the Los Angeles Lakers star has reportedly launched his own E1 series powerboat racing team.
The offshore power boat racing series is designed to test how fast boats can go in a sport similar to drag racing.
Millionaire investors Tom Brady and Will Smith have already thrown their money into the sport, with James launching the team last month, per TMZ.
James’ team has two drivers who both have extensive racing experience – Rusty Wyatt and Catie Munnings.
Wyatt took part in the European boat-racing league that launched last year and he has competed on the water since 12 years old.
‘Anything LeBron does, people are gonna follow,’ Wyatt told the outlet. ‘He’s such an icon to so many different people.’

Munnings is a former professional British rally car driver and was also a sports television presenter in England for BBC.
The boats can go up to 70 miles per hour in the water, with the 20-foot long boats not needing much to get up to full horsepower.
Wyatt told TMZ he has yet to meet James, with the Lakers star a little busy in the middle of the basketball season.
Since acquiring Luka Doncic, Los Angeles has climbed the Western Conference standings and are now considered a title contender.
Brady’s involvement in the sport is in addition to having ownership in the Las Vegas Raiders, as well as English soccer team Birmingham City.
