Father Seeks Help As Five Kids Drop Out of School Due to Finances; Tunde Onakoya Steps In

A father whose five children dropped out of school due to financial difficulties turned to social media for help and received an incredible response.

Renowned chess player Tunde Onakoya stepped up to sponsor the children’s education until they graduated from university.

The father shared his heartfelt plea on X (formerly Twitter), tagging prominent individuals and expressing his desperation for assistance.

“Universe, I’m reaching out directly on behalf of my innocent children. They have dropped out of school this term and need an education,” he wrote.

He explained that his financial struggles had stripped away his purchasing power, making it impossible to support his children’s education.

Moved by the father’s message, Tunde Onakoya quoted the tweet, assuring him that help was on the way.

“Your children will definitely go back to school. @chessinslums will take full responsibility for their tuition until they complete university,” he pledged. He also made a personal donation to support the family.

As this heartwarming exchange spread online, many Nigerians expressed their admiration for Onakoya’ s generosity, flooding the comments with words of gratitude and support for the father and his children.

    See some reactions below:

@jidifeanyi: “Thank you for reaching out to him and putting a smile on his face and that of his family.”
