Navrongo police recovered two bodies from the Tono Dam spillway. The victims, suspected to be from Chiana, crashed while riding a motorcycle along the dam’s embankment returning from Navrongo.

Preliminary findings indicate they lost control at a curve, and failed to brake despite attempts, with skid marks confirming their struggle.

Visible head, shoulder, and arm injuries were noted during retrieval. The bodies were moved to Navrongo War Memorial Hospital’s morgue.

Despite prior safety measures by the Irrigation Company of Upper Region (ICOUR), including embankment barricades to deter vehicles, riders continue ignoring restrictions, leading to accidents like this tragedy.
