Kumasi Asante Kotoko are set to get a new astroturf as Blaze Investment commences the construction of a synthetic pitch at Adako Jachie.
The club’s complex will now house three pitches two natural grass and one synthetic.
The project, which is being constructed by Blaze Investment and financed by Ghana Gas, includes a 70 x 108 FIFA-standard premium quality pitch, floodlights, changing rooms, and spectator stands with a 1,000-seat capacity.
The project comes at the right time, as a good number of Premier League clubs play on artificial turfs.
The club’s management, led by Nana Apinkrah, chairman of the Interim Management Committee, believes the facility will be a major boost, eliminating challenges in preparing for games played on synthetic pitches.
According to the contractor, Alhaji Salifu Sinkare, his firm, Blaze Investment, will take six months to complete the project.
