    Sekondi Metropolitan Assembly to impound stray cattle and prosecute owners

    Sekondi Metropolitan Assembly to impound stray cattle and prosecute owners

    The Sekondi Metropolitan Assembly has announced, for the information of cattle rearers, plans to impound stray cattle and prosecute owners.

    The decision to impound cattle is based on a total disregard for the STMA bylaw stipulating the Control of Livestock 2017.

    A statement from the Assembly indicated that owners of cattle should take their cattle off the streets by Monday, February 17, 2025.

    Meanwhile, the operation to impound the stray cattle and prosecute their owners will begin on February 19, 2025.

    Cattle rearers have been directed to call the Environmental Health Unit of the Assembly to be informed on the conditions to meet to keep animals in the Metropolis by the close of February 14, 2025.
