The court cases against popular social media influencer, Ama Governor, and some other members of the Democracy Hub group have been discontinued by the Attorney General.

Ama Governor, real name Elorm Ama Governor-Ababio, along with Fix the Country convenor, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, and over 50 other individuals were arrested during a protest against illegal mining (galamsey), which occurred from September 21 to September 23, 2024, at the 37 Roundabout in Accra.

According to court documents signed on January 28, 2025, by the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, a nolle prosequi was filed to discontinue the case against the protesters, including Oliver Barker-Vormawor, media personality Felicity Nelson and Ama Governor.

The arrests of the demonstrators made international news headlines after the state refused to grant them bail.

The protesters were charged with conspiracy to commit unlawful acts, unlawful assembly, causing unlawful damage, offensive conduct conducive to the breach of peace, assault on a public officer and defacement of public notice.

All the arrested protestors were brought before the court and charged. After two weeks in detention, the protesters were granted bail by an Accra High Court.

In October 2024, a number of them were discharged by a court in Accra after the state dropped all charges against them.
