Sports journalist Saddick Adams says the violence in Nsoatreman should have led to the resignation of key figures overseeing Ghana football.

The incident at Nana Konamansah Park on Sunday, February 2, 2025, saw a match between Nsoatreman and Asante Kotoko descend into chaos, resulting in the stabbing of Francis Frimpong, a devoted Kumasi Asante Kotoko fan.

In response, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) imposed a temporary ban on the Ghana Premier League (GPL) and held an emergency meeting with all 18 clubs on Thursday, February 6, 2025, to address safety concerns.

However, speaking to 3Sports, Saddick Adams dismissed the meeting as ineffective, arguing that the GFA should implement major reforms before the league resumes.

“What I would have wanted to hear was the FA banning the league for a specific period to enforce reforms—especially in safety protocols, sponsorships, and infrastructure. Some of these venues are practically like tomato farms and bushes where they send teams to go there and murder them,” he said.

Adams also criticized the GFA, blaming them for the lack of security at GPL match venues and calling for the resignation of key officials.

“I don’t think they’ve been fair to themselves or the fans. They dismantled the security committee and replaced it with their friends, which has resulted in unsafe stadiums.

“Losing one life should have led to at least a few resignations, but as usual, nothing will change, and people will keep their jobs,” he added.
