An Aussie bloke has sidelined his kebab while out on the town to heroically confront a trio of would-be thieves allegedly stealing from a bottleshop.
Brisbane man Brad stepped in after seeing three teenagers allegedly robbing West End Liquorland in front of bemused customers at about 7pm on Saturday.
CCTV footage from the store shows the would-be robbers grabbing bottles of liquor from the shelves and stashing them inside their backpacks.
The lone attendant at the counter was distracted during the Saturday evening rush and completely outnumbered by the group.
But eagled-eyed Brad saw what was happening from the street where he was queuing for a kebab and rushed to the store.
‘I went and I just stood in front because it’s a single door,’ Brad told 9News.
He told the teens to surrender the bottles while barricading the door.
Their only way out, he said, would be empty-handed or with a receipt for the booze.
The trio of would-be thieves entered the store wearing balaclavas on Saturday night
Brad barricaded the door and demanded the group pay for the booze or put it back
‘They tried to argue. They came out and tried to push me. I grabbed them, and threw them aside,’ Brad continued.
‘The way I was raised, from my parents in Sydney, we don’t put up with that stuff.’
Brad is seen in the footage snatching bottles of Johnnie Walker and Smirnoff from the thieves’ hands and placing them on the ground.
The trio finally gave up and fled to a white SUV stationed across the road.
NSW Police said they are investigating the incident.
