Kissi Dankwa, a special aide to Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has criticized socio-political analyst Alex Emmanuel Nti for describing the Effutu MP’s questions during the vetting committee session as unnecessary and irrelevant.

He argued that the analyst’s characterization of the questions was inappropriate.

“The lecturer opined that when meeting a panel to be interrogated as a nominee, and having submitted documents to be examined, it is unfair to refer to these questions as irrelevant on the radio,” Dankwa stated.

He further noted that this is the first time a nominee has been vetted for more than six hours, citing former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, who underwent a 48-hour vetting process.

According to Dankwa, the vetting process extends beyond assessing a nominee’s competence; it also involves evaluating their integrity and credibility.

He was responding to comments made by the analyst, who suggested that the Minority Leader was causing trouble and creating chaos with his line of questioning.

However, Lazio emphasized that his boss has been firm, fair, and committed to his duties on the committee.

He also alleged that the Minority Leader and his colleagues were under threat, claiming that the NDC had brought in thugs to attack and intimidate them.

“We should be reminded that when you appear before the committee, you are vetted not only on your competencies but also on your integrity, candor, and humility. That is exactly what the Minority Leader has always done with nominees, including Sam Nartey George, who appeared before the committee yesterday,” he said.

“If he is responding in the name of a professional, he should be measured in his remarks. He should not describe the Minority Leader’s questions as irrelevant and unnecessary. The Minority Leader is being thorough with the nominees based on the information they submitted before the committee,” he added.
