Kumawood actor Abraham Kofi Davis, popularly known as Salinko, has stated that the Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, is capable of improving the tourism sector but has limited influence over the creative arts industry.

In an interview on Hitz FM on January 31, 2025, Salinko, who previously urged his colleagues to reach out directly to President John Dramani Mahama instead of Dzifa Gomashie, has emphasised that the minister can only do little for the creative arts sector.

“If she doesn’t have the power, she can’t help us. The only thing she can do is sew dresses and enjoy the position until her term is over. The power Dzifa Gomashie holds will rather help people in the tourism sector.

“She will bring people into the country, and they will just walk about and leave. So far as the creative arts is concerned, forget about it… She is not a musician or in the music industry. She was an actress and it’s not like I am attacking her,” he said.

Salinko further asked Dzifa Gomashie to provide incentives to support creatives in the country.

“Nobody is telling Dzifa Gomashie to build an edifice anywhere. But there are certain incentives she should be able to provide for those of us in the creative arts industry. That is only if she doesn’t pay attention to people in the tourism sector.

“Also, there are people like me who have the ears of the masses, so she should get in touch with people like us. I don’t hate her, so if she meets me, she should know I am her friend,” he added.
