The Managing Director of Basfam Company Limited, Alhaji Musah Abubakari, has issued an appeal to President John Dramani Mahama, urging him to take immediate action to address the deteriorating condition of the Accra-Takoradi-Cape Coast highways.

Alhaji Abubakari emphasized that the state of these vital roads are hindering business activity and jeopardizing the safety of travelers, demanding urgent government intervention.

“These roads are major routes used by the business community and travelers, crucial to building the economy. Neglecting their maintenance undermines economic progress and puts lives at risk,” he revealed.

In an interview with BFT, Abubakari expressed satisfaction at President Mahama’s recent victory and the peaceful swearing-in ceremony attributing it to divine intervention.

He stressed that, having started his business from humble beginnings, he felt a responsibility to bring to the President’s attention a critical area demanding immediate action.

Abubakari labeled the dilapidated state of the Accra, Takoradi and Cape Coast highways as “death trap zones whiles emphasizing the vital role these roads play in facilitating business and movement across the country.”

Alhaji Abubakari strongly believes that ensuring the roads are in suitable condition is essential for fostering smooth business operations and ensuring the comfort and safety of all who use them.

On the occasion, Alhaji Abubakari also commended President Mahama for his maturity and focus, noting that the president had not engaged in blaming the previous administration but rather had focused on tackling the economic challenges ahead.

He further urged the President to maintain this stance of responsibility and good governance, reiterating the importance of accountability within the administration.
