President of New Edubiase United, Jacob Abdul Salam Yakubu has attributed the Black Stars’ inability to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to the evil deeds of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Ghana struggled in the qualifiers, losing three and drawing three games across the period.
Playing six games without a win, the West African powerhouse finished bottom of the standings in Group F, derailing the team’s AFCON qualification chances.
For the first time in 20 years, the Black Stars will miss the Africa Cup of Nations after falling short in Group F. The last time Ghana failed to qualify for the CAF’s biggest event was back in 2004.
According to Abdul Salem, the Black Stars’ AFCON qualification failure is due to the bad treatment meted out to some people in the football fraternity.
“To me, Pep Guardiola is the best coach in the world, but he cannot handle the Black Stars. Otto Addo has done nothing wrong as coach of the national team. For our coach to celebrate an equalizing goal tells you our football has collapsed,” he told Kumasi-based Kessben FM.
“Semenyo, Inaki, Kudus, and others are mature players. Otto Addo has nothing to teach them. Otto Addo can’t be blamed for the Black Stars AFCON qualification failure. We didn’t qualify because of evil leaders. They’ve really hurt people within the football fraternity and their evil deeds are paying off,” he added.
