Ghanaian football giants Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of defender Michael Sefah from Division One League side Port City FC.
The transfer, finalized on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, marks another strategic addition to the Porcupine Warriors’ squad as they aim to solidify their backline for the ongoing season.
Sefah, a towering and commanding presence in defence, has been instrumental for Port City.
His performances in the second tier caught the attention of Kotoko’s technical team, prompting swift negotiations between the two clubs.
Port City confirmed the transfer on social media, wishing Sefah success in his new challenge.
The acquisition of Sefah takes Kotoko’s tally of new signings this transfers window to six. He joins Sampson Eduku, Kwame Opoku, Kwasi Asante, Daniel Adrian Adjetey, and Isaac Mintah in what has been a busy recruitment period for the Kumasi-based club.
Speaking on his move, Sefah expressed gratitude for the opportunity to don the red jersey and vowed to meet the high expectations of the club’s loyal supporters.
The 29-year-old has top-flight experience, having previously played for Liberty Professionals and Medeama SC in the Ghana Premier League.
He also had a spell at Indian club BSS Sporting before returning to Ghana to sign for Port City.
