    A young Nigerian lady has taken to X (Twitter) to lament about her mother pressuring her to get married.

    The 22-year-old who recently graduated from the University of Lagos disclosed that she’s tired of her mother’s constant requests about marriage.

    Sharing her plight in multiple tweets, she disclosed her interest in working before settling down but her mother thinks otherwise.

    She went on to reveal that her mother told her she was too full of herself after she discussed her plans of working before settling down with her.

    Her tweet read;

    “Omo I am really getting tired of home, I am turning 23 this feb and just graduated uni and my mom is already pressuring me about marriage, I introduced her to the guy I am presently talking to and every minute of the day is marriage, even when I told her that I want to build my career before anything crosses my mind about marriage, like I am honestly getting really annoyed and tired and I really don’t know what to do at this point. I told her today that I don’t care if the guy I am talking to is ready to settle down that I am not ready and she was telling me I am too full of myself, it’s really exhausting at this point.”

    While many tweeps backed her decision to build her career up first, others advised that she stand her ground and make her mother see reasons why she is too young to get married.
