President of Tema Youth, Wilfred Osei Kweku Palmer, has strongly opposed Kurt Okraku’s alleged bid for re-election to a third term as President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Reports indicate that Mr. Okraku plans to seek a third term as GFA President after his current tenure ends in 2027.

This has prompted Palmer to publicly criticize Mr. Okraku’s performance during an interview with Asempa FM.

Palmer described Mr. Okraku’s first and second terms as abysmal and argued that he should not consider seeking a third term.

“Kurt Okraku’s first term and second term have been abysmal. So why the need for a third term as GFA President?” he questioned.

“The Black Stars’ performance proves that there is no justification to remain in office for a third term,” he added.

Mr. Okraku assumed the presidency of the GFA in 2019, succeeding the Normalisation Committee. However, his administration has been plagued by various challenges within Ghana’s national teams.

His tenure has faced intense criticism, particularly following Ghana’s early exits from the last two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and their failure to qualify for the 2025 edition in Morocco.
