At Manso Watreso in the Ashanti Region’s Amansie South District, two alleged armed robbers were killed by a mob in a disturbing occurrence.

According to the allegations, the accused stole 11,000 cedis and 30 ounces of gold from several miners. Two other people are also reportedly on the run.

At approximately 8:00 p.m. on Monday, the four suspects, carrying machetes and firearms, broke into the neighborhood, according to witnesses.

While stealing the stuff, they attacked the miners.

Unfortunately, the two culprits were lynched once the mob apprehended them.

In an interview with Kwame Agyenim Boateng of OTEC News, Hon. Kofi Mensah, the local assembly member, stated that police had taken the deceased’s bodies to the morgue.

The police are currently on a manhunt for the two remaining suspects.

The Assembly Member emphasized that, the incident highlights the need for improved security measures in the community to protect residents and businesses.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has been working to address the issue of armed robbery in the region, with recent arrests and investigations underway
