FuryretiresFormer heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, 36, announced his retirement today via a short video on social media.

“Hi everybody! I’m going to make this short and sweet. I would like to announce my retirement from boxing. It’s been a blast. I’ve loved every single minute of it, and I am going to end with this. Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless everybody. See you on the other side,” stated Fury.

The Gypsy King had been expected to face Anthony Joshua later this year in an all-British showdown.

Notes: Fury has retired before and then returned to the ring, so we’ll see if this retirement sticks…Turpin was a notorious British highway robber. The expression Dick Turpin wore a mask usually alludes to someone who feels robbed or cheated in some way.
