Former Ghanaian defender Philip Boampong has lamented that the attitude of some Ghanaians will make it difficult for them to make it to Heaven.

The former Hearts of Oak defender disclosed that sometimes when they approach journalists and other influential individuals for assistance, they demand financial compensation.

Speaking in an interview with Global Sports Studios, Boampong lamented that these acts, including hatred, do not reflect Christian values, which could be detrimental to one’s salvation.

“Ghanaians hate the truth, so I doubt anyone will go to Heaven. There is no integrity; nobody does something for free. If you compare the living standards abroad to those in Ghana, there is a big difference.

“One American state is bigger than Ghana, so why are we suffering? The journalists who are supposed to air our grievances are demanding money, despite us winning the U20 World Cup,” he said.

Boampong had earlier demanded full payment of the benefits from the GH¢10,000 per player investment made on behalf of the U-20 players who won the 2009 World Cup.
