A founding member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ato Ahwoi, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to appoint sports administrator and media personality, Dr. Randy Abbey, as part of his ministers.
According to him, the experience Dr. Abbey has garnered both in sports and in the media as the host of Good Morning Ghana would enable him to thrive if given the nod as a minister.
The former Chairman of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) believes Dr. Abbey will play a key role in government if given an appointment.
“I hope Randy will be considered by President Mahama to be a minister in his government, just like Akufo-Addo considered Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and gave him a ministerial position in his government.
“Randy will be a good minister. I hope he would learn to take the whip just like he was whipping all of us when we were in government. If he listens to my advice, he would go far,” he said during an interview with Metro TV.
Ahwoi further advised Dr. Abbey to be wary of women and desist from corrupt activities if he gets a ministerial appointment.
“Comport yourself very well like you’ve comported yourself all along. Don’t let money be your sole aim of being in government. Once you become a minister or whatever it is, there are a lot of traps that will be set for you.
“There are a lot of beautiful girls around. They will be throwing themselves at you. Just look at them and turn your eye to the other side,” he added.
This comes as Dr. Abbey is rumored to be appointed as the Minister of Sports.
