Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Murtala Mohammed, has reminded the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government that retaining power will depend on how the government governs the people of Ghana.

He argues that the Ghanaian voter has become increasingly sophisticated and no longer cares about party affiliation.

Rather, they are concerned with the government’s ability to deliver on promises and improve the economy during its tenure.

Murtala Mohammed made these remarks during an interview on TV3.

“Retaining power will depend on how we govern,” he said, noting that Ghanaian voters now base their decisions on issues rather than party loyalty.

He further emphasized that the successful implementation of policies by John Dramani Mahama will ensure that the NDC remains in power.

He also warned against the arrogance of power, indicating that it played a role in the NPP’s downfall.

“The arrogance of power was also concerning. One thing we don’t take lightly is political power. These were major factors in the fall of the NPP,” he explained.

Watch the moment John Mahama arrived for his investiture as President of Ghana:
