While the country is celebrating the inauguration of President John Dramani Mahama, Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei has drawn the ire of some people on social media, following a post he made.

In a message shared on January 7, 2025, Prince David Osei extended a grateful farewell to former New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his exceptional leadership.

He praised Dr. Bawumia for his “visionary approach and commitment to uplifting” the country and expressed his confidence that the former vice president will continue to “lead with excellence.”

He wrote, “We extend our gratitude for your exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication to steering Ghana towards progress and development. Your visionary approach and commitment to uplifting our nation have been truly inspiring. Your legacy on digitalization will continue to illuminate the path for generations to come.

“Best wishes on your future endeavours, may you continue to inspire and lead with excellence wherever you go.”

However, Prince David Osei’s message did not go down well with many on social media, as they have reacted strongly to his post.

“You all lied to the man, misled him and chopped his money,” one netizen commented.

Another criticised him, saying, “Correct your writeup, wai. Which one is ‘we’? You and who?”

One other person remarked sarcastically, “Hopefully, your cousin didn’t take your phone this time.”

Another expressed skepticism: “Who wrote this for you to post? It’s obvious this write-up has no touch of reality; exceptional and visionary leader! Bawumia???”

The actor has been in the limelight for the wrong reasons recently, following his posts on social media before, during, and after the December 7, 2024, general elections.
