Former Black Stars head coach James Kwasi Appiah has named former Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan as the best player he has ever coached.

Kwasi Appiah made the remark during a question-and-answer session with 3Sports.

He managed Asamoah Gyan during his two spells as Black Stars coach: first from 2012 to 2014, and again from 2017 to 2020.

Gyan became Ghana’s all-time top scorer under Kwasi Appiah when he scored a brace in a 3-1 win over Sudan in 2013.

During the session, which did not allow him to elaborate on his choice, Appiah also revealed that his favorite stadium is the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

James Kwasi Appiah is currently the head coach of Sudan and has successfully led them to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Former Black Stars coach, Kwesi Appiah says he idolizes Milovan Rajevac in the coaching setting.
