Nations FC returned to winning ways with a commanding 3-1 victory over Holy Stars at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon.

The win keeps them in the top three of the table as they continue their push for a top spot in the league.

Black Stars defender Razak Simpson opened the scoring in the first half, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to hand the home side an early lead. Faisal Charwetey doubled the advantage with a clinical finish, taking his season tally to nine goals as the league’s top scorer.

Holy Stars, unbeaten in their last two games, struggled to cope with the attacking intensity of Nations FC. Emmanuel Annor added the third goal for Nations with a sublime volley that left the goalkeeper stranded.

The visitors pulled one back late in the game through Emmanuel Agyei, but it was little more than a consolation as Nations FC comfortably saw out the contest.

The result leaves Nations FC in third place, just a point behind the league leaders, while Holy Stars drop to 11th after their first defeat in three matches. Nations will be eager to build on this performance in their next fixture.
