The youth of Osudoku in the Shai-Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region have vehemently criticized recent social media claims made against COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, the Deputy Inspector General of Police.

The teenagers describe the charges as “untrue, unsubstantiated, and malicious,” claiming they are part of a deliberate campaign to damage Mr. Yohuno’s reputation and harm his contributions to national security.

In a statement, the Osudoku Youth referred to a lawsuit involving Sergeant David Ojeyim, who allegedly implicated Mr. Yohuno in his reluctance to follow a police instruction.

However, the youth explained that court documents reflect a different story.

According to them, Inspector General of Police George Akuffo Dampare, not Mr. Yohuno, interfered with official duties by reassigning police under his charge without proper justification.

“We encourage all well-meaning Ghanaians to read the court affidavit themselves to uncover the truth,” according to the group.

The teenagers also accused Mr. Dampare of coordinating a plot to undermine Mr. Yohuno’s career.

This, they claimed, includes undercover recordings by security analyst Adam Bonaa, a failed lawsuit contesting Mr Yohuno’s appointment, and intentional exclusion from critical police activities, such as the recent general election.

The statement further claimed that Mr Dampare’s conduct had escalated following the opposition NDC’s victory in the general election.

According to the youth, recent publications by Owula Mangortey and MP elect and social commentator Kwame Asare Obeng (A-Plus) wrongly accuse Mr Yohuno of conspiring to rig the elections in favor of the NPP.

“These baseless accusations are intended to create public disaffection for Mr Yohuno and to block his chances of becoming IGP,” the 19-year-old claimed.

The Osudoku Youth praised Mr Yohuno as a “man of proven integrity” who has advanced through the police ranks by hard effort, discipline, and genuine leadership.

They stressed his reputation for fairness, professionalism, and dedication to duty, and urged the people to reject the “horrendous disinformation” being spread against him.

The kid, quoting Romans 12:19 and Proverbs 26:24, exhorted Mr. Yohuno to be steadfast and leave retribution to God.

“We believe the truth will prevail, and those behind these malicious acts will be exposed,” they explained.

The group also expressed dissatisfaction with the police administration for neglecting to investigate what they called “heinous crimes” of misinformation and propaganda, implying that the IGP himself could be a benefactor of these schemes.

They finished by encouraging Ghanaians to treat such publications with the “contempt they deserve” and reaffirmed their unshakable support for Chief of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno.
